Arlington, VA, October 25, 2010— The Photoluminescent Safety Association has elected two new board members and new officers at its 2010 Annual Business Meeting, held September 22 at the Renaissance Chicago O’Hare Suites Hotel. The new directors are Joe Bloomfield, GlowZone Inc., returning for a second term, and Al Carlson, with Jessup Manufacturing Company, McHenry, IL who was a founding board member.

The following are the officers for the coming year:

  • President Phil Befumo, United Mineral & Chemical Corporation;
  • Executive Vice President Jim Armour, Balco, Inc.;
  • Vice President Marina Batzke, American Permalight, Inc.;
  • Secretary Joe Bloomfield, GlowZone Inc.
  • Treasurer Al Carlson. Jessup Manufacturing Company.

At the business meeting the PSA’s members also agreed to continue to develop the association’s strategic plan. Members were invited to participate in a new ad hoc Strategic Planning Committee, which began meeting earlier this month. The committee expects to submit a draft plan for the Board of Directors consideration in November, with the expectation that the multi-year plan may be put into action by December.

PSA is dedicated to generating broad-based acceptance of safety-grade photoluminescent products. Photoluminescent products improve safety through such markings as exit signs, floor proximity egress pathway marking systems, and general safety signage.
