On April 10th and 11th, IMEC in partnership with GLWN (formerly Great Lakes Wind Network), invites you to attend a workshop that covers the basics for manufacturers and service providers interested in exploring market diversification into one of America’s fastest growing markets. 

Lisa Prondzinski of Metform will discuss their company efforts during the Wind Energy Profile process, including benefits and lessons learned!

EDC Investor CHROMA adding capabilities

Chroma expands its color Innovation and development Laboratory, and dedicates the new Technology Center to founder, Robert D. Swain McHenry, IL-

Chroma Corporation has more than doubled the size of it color innovation and development laboratory. They have added six injection molding machines, three additional extruders, and a meeting area for customers to enjoy a relaxed working atmosphere in the Color Development and Product Development laboratory. These state of the art capabilities will accommodate application development, testing, formulating and processing optimization and color development. The new equipment is capable of precise statistical process control and is geared towards Chroma’s strategic focus in engineering resins as well as their substantial core business in polyolefins.

Stu Swain, Chroma’s Director of Sales and Marketing said “Chroma was built on supporting all facets of the packaging industry and we will never forget that, but we have been adding capabilities to better serve the consumer durables markets over the last few years. This lab expansion and new equipment is the best investment to support our growth and activity in this market segment”. The lab also includes a blown film line and a cast sheet line to support the flexible packaging market.

During the August 2011 Board of Directors meeting, the newly expanded and renovated Technology Center was dedicated to founder, Robert D. Swain. Bob Bunday, Chroma’s Laboratory Manager says the expansion and additional equipment “will enable Chroma to react more quickly to our customer’s growing needs for color matching, samples and allow more product development projects “.

In the past several years, Chroma’s has introduced several innovative products: Biodegradable master batches, light diffused master batches, Photoluminescent products, antimicrobials, Cool color and compounds, Frosted colors for PET, Covert authentification masterbatches, VIBLO (visible in black light only) colors, and glow putty specifically designed for rotational molders.

Chroma Corporation is a global thermoplastic compounded raw material leader and offers the broadest range of custom color, special effect, and specialty additives in master batches and precompounded products in commodity and engineering thermoplastic resins for extrusion, injection molding, blown film, blow molding and a multitude of other processes and applications including rotational molding.
